Seller Description
Brink is a Newberry award winning author. This is a childhood story that I loved because it creates a world where girls are in charge. Imagine you’re twelve, babysitting infants with your sister on a ship, when suddenly the ship sinks (!!) and you must rescue yourselves and the babies. The lifeboat eventually floats to a lush tropical island. The clever sisters continue to care for 4 babies using their wits to survive. They meet a hermit and form a friendship. They’re eventually rescued and all is well. This old school library copy of Baby Island shows wear overall. Some pages have brown discoloration. Library stamps here and there. Binding is sturdy and all 172 pages are secure. Copyright 1937.
